Improving internet speed with new computer

I just purchased a NEW inspiron 3647 10 days ago and every since it's installation, my internet (specifically downloads and <ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character removed as per TOU> ) is slower than it was on my previous computer. Download on my xbox take a lot longer as well as it's setup in my wireless network. I live in Buffalo NY and have Verizon DSL with a westell 6100 modem and a Netgear router.

I have done 3 speed tests in the past two days with these results:

#3 being the most recent.

Any ideas on how to step up my connection speed?  The stop and go of video buffering is driving me insane!
