Holding in the reset button on the router about 10 seconds will set it back to original factor settings. You will need to know to get into the router to set up up afterwards. If you dont have the manual or don't understand or if it seems too complicated then maybe just leave it as it is. We don't know everything that you have changed in the settings which is why we were trying to start over fresh.
How are you connected now? (wired into one of the ethernet ports or wireless?)
i have cable....and for the moment, i am connected wireless to my wireless network connection. it has been working ok for now....just don't think it will last.
thank you for your help. i appreciate your response.
it seems to be back to where it was when i started this mess.
i connects to my wireless network, then sometimes when i mouseover the intelprowireless icon in my tray, i notice that it has switched itself to a different wireless network....just doesn't seem to stay connected to mine.
Can you connect your ethernet cable to a wired port on your router then turn off wireless on your notebook, so now you are directly connected to the router and have web access?
Were the changes you made only in the router? Exactly what were the changes if you remember? And did you make any changes in the notebook to the wireless settings?
sorry, I just noticed that you already have another very very long thread going on the subject... that makes it very confusing I'm sure.
It's very important to know if you made any changes to your router settings and what they were, as well as to your notebook wireless settings.
You have other competing wireless access points in your area, and if your wlan connection becomes weak and drops it trys to connect to a stonger one.
I mentioned that you should connect to your router via ethernet to do any changes to the router, as I cannot tell who's wireless network you are connecting to or using, if you have disabled security, etc etc.
You need a baseline to start at...confirm your router configurations, including wireless setup/security then make sure your notebook has same ssid and security setup, etc.
Please post any reply to the main thread as that will help everyone. Good luck.
i dont understand what you mean by posting to the main thread....
can you walk me through and explain how i would go about completing your suggestions to find a baseline to start at...confirm your router configurations, including wireless setup/security then make sure your notebook has same ssid and security setup, etc.
please, i have to find a way to keep my laptop connected to my wireless network and stop floating.
i was able to put back security enabled on my wireless network. how can i make it more stable?

What he means -->
STOP writing to all the threads you have started. Just keep posting to the FIRST one you started that is pages long.
