You should be able to enter your service tag at the Drivers & Downloads page  http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs , indicate your operating system, and bring up a full list of drivers for your machine.
 
Find your modem driver under the listing for "Communication Devices"
 
 
Got my 6000 a few weeks ago -- it has a Conexant modem.  Drivers, manuals, and modem utility available for that modem at:

Neither did mine, it's a connexant. I ended up buying a USB external modem which works fine every time.
I think it's quite unacceptable that so many people have a problem with modems in this lap top, and Dell has never come up with a solution.

I went into mine and found that the modem had been disabled in the modem properties. as soon as I took the check off disable it worked great.
