Truemobile 1350 b/g - Broadcom Corp. 2.4Ghz. - 430-096 was supplied as part of my new Dell Inspiron 1150.....lots of call and lots of possible reasons from Dell why it wont work but no solution so far. Not at all impressed by Dell service over the matter (this is my 5th Dell laptop and does match up to reasonable service in the past) My advice is to steer clear of WIFI with Dell and Inspiron until Dell sort themselves out. Currently in the process of trying to obtain a refund.
WiFi products other than Truemobile work with the Inspirons just fine, as do the TM products once you get them going. Get a major brand and be happier.
Thanks. All the other parts of the network based on Linksys and Netgear work fine. Getting Dell to resolve the Dell WIFI product problem is a real time consuming pain,,,,also recently had some feedback that Dell support is generally ok BUT their support of their networking products is lacking...
Just to complete this little tale. Inspiron was shipped with the wrong driver. Then new driver arrived and no improvement (still the "wrong" driver).........Then next new driver arrived and IT WORKED. Sounds simple but countless phone calls over 5 days tells me it would have been simpler (and cheaper) to ship the right thing in the first place.
Hey, I had a dead motherboard last Monday (week ago) and they sent a new one (refurb) and it had a bad USB connector and so sent a new one. Today it came - DOA! So again it was reordered and we'll see Wednesday. I am getting new plastics, cpu, and keyboard out of the deal.
