INSPIRON 6000 CONNECTION PROBLEMS

HELLO! I am writing b/c I am having difficulty actually getting the internet to work on my laptop. My WiFi light is lit up and I have excellent connectivity status, but when I click on internet explorer, it said I am offline. I do not know what I am missing. I think I am just overseeing a certain setting. I use dial up at my house b/c I live in the country and have no other options for internet usage. I have successfully logged onto wireless internet at school and at cafes and such. Its just at my friend's apartment that I am having trouble. Please help me and I will be most grateful! Have a good Wednesday!

Is your wireless radio turned on (the Fn F2 key combination toggles the radio on and off).  If this is not the problem, to help troubleshoot further, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.
