Inspiron 6000 wireless issue

Question

I just bought a new WRT120N router and was trying to connect with my 4 years old Inspiron 6000 with the integrated Intel 2200 B/G wireless card and no matter what I do or settings I have (even unsecured default ssid) I cant connect to the wireless network. I have an older WRT54G and I am able to connect fine with this computer. Also I have an iPhone and a newer (about 1yr old) Inspiron 14 and both are able to connect to the new WRT120N. I know it has to do something with my wireless card since every time I try to connect to that network the Wi-Fi light in the laptop goes off and to turn it back on I have to cycle the card off/on. What options can I try?  Will the other Intel 2915 wireless card that came as an option on this laptop have the same issues? I was thinking anyways of buying a replacement for that wireless card. What are good internal replacements or do I need a newer external card? Thanks in advance!

Hate to tell you...but it looks like Linksys/Cisco released a router that is incompatible with one of the most common integrated wireless cards. See link below...I've posted a few times on there.
