Inspiron 600m and problem with LAN
I got my 600m today, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldnt get it connect into the internet. My desktop connects fine with the direct connection from the cable modem and through router (Linksys). 600m couldnt connect to either way. I switched port on the router for my desktop and the 600m, Desktop works fine but not at all for 600m. I plug the 600m direct to the internet and still couldnt make it work.
Please help me.

Note that whenever you change the device connected directly to the cable modem, you must reset the network by turning off everything, then turning on the cable modem first, waiting a few minutes for network syncrhonization to occur, then powering up the device that is directly connected to the modem (router or computer), then power up any other computers. If you did not do this reset, do it again, so that the troubleshooting steps you performed before will tell us something.

However I can only have one computer connect to the internet at one time. Im not sure either this is router problem or ISP problem.. or maybe my setting is wrong.
The default gateway on the connected computer is always xx.xxx.xx.1.A friend told me it should be 2.3 or other depends on port but not1. I wonder if it has anything to do with my problem.

The default gateway should be the IP address of the router. That IP address will depend on the make and model of the router.
