Inspiron 600M network adapter

Anyone know what network adapter the 600m came with?  I have no network adapters shown in the device manager window even though I know there's one in the machine.  Considering the computer operating system was recently upgraded, the adapter drivers are not present.  So, any info is appreciated.

deltrain,

If you just re-installed the operating system, then you need to install the rest of the drivers.

The full list of inspiron 600m drivers for XP are:

  • Dell Notebook System Software
  • Intel Mobile Chipset driver
  • ATI Mobile Radeon 9000 video driver
  • SigmaTel STAC 9750 audio driver
  • O2Micro 02711EC1 PCMCIA/SmartCard controller driver
  • Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller driver
  • MDC driver (modem)
  • Wireless MiniPCI driver (if customer has a device)
  • Wireless Bluetooth (if customer has a device)
  • Alps touchpad drivers

Use Fn+F2 to toggle the radio for wireless/bluetooth on or off.  You may need to check the BIOS and ensure it is configured to use "Fn+F2/Application" for controlling the wireless as that allows the Intel ProSet or Dell Wireless Utility (depending on which brand card you have) to toggle the radio as well.
