Did you try updating your particular card driver from the drivers and downloads website?

her posting suggests to me that she's using a pcmcia wireless card.

Also, if I play with it enough, it will reconnect and the lights will go on.  But then it will once again stop working.

Did you try rebooting your laptop before reinstalling the card?

I have rebooted the computer several times without the card in.  Then I plug it in, and nothing happens.

I have no idea what kind of card I have.  Sorry :(

I will be online, and then the computer will go "do-do" to tell me that I've unplugged or removed a device, even though the card has not been touched.

Sounds like a faulty connection either within the card or the PCMCIA slot.
