Inspron 1200 wireless issues

hello,

I have an inspiron 1200 and the problem is I instal the software for my pcmcia wireless card and the unit only works for about 5 or 10 minutes and then it will say that no association to the access point can be found.  I seem to have all the new drivers for the chipsets and ethernet controls and all that, do any of you have any idea what I can do to remedy the problem?

It would hlep to know exactly which make and model wireless card you have.  Does it have a utility to set power savings options?  If so, you could try setting the power savings options to always supply full power.   Do you have other computers that connect to your router/access point without exhibiting the problem?

the card I have is  WPC54GS  I don't remember anything about powersave options with the card. the power light stays lit but the second green light on the card eventually goes out and I lose the radio icon on the bottom of the screen.
