To find which you need,Start>Control Panel>Device Manager>Click the (+) next to Network Adapters. This will show the wireless card you have.
Do the same for Video, except click the (+) next to Display Adapter. If you are using Vista, log into Dell and click support tab and click on search for drivers, enter your service tag number,or select your system and select Vista as your OS.Wireless card is listed under" Network tab" and Video is listed under "Video tab".
Thank you SO much for taking the time to reply to me. I tried looking up what I needed, but didn't seem to find what you're mentioning. In Device Manager, under network connections I have two items displayed: 1394 net adapter, and Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated controller.
For the video -- I didn't even find "display adapter." I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what?!?!
OK, great. However, when I dowloaded the first thread, unzipped the files and it started the installation process, I got an error message saying "no compatible hardware found. The software you are trying to install is not supported on this system. The software will not be installed. Setup will now exit."

Did he by any chance install the notebook system software, and chipset drivers first?....
EDIT: If not, these have to be installed first so,you would have to re-install drivers again.
Try this driver, http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R174291&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400/E1505&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=9805&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=6&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=236819 .
