Installing printer drivers(A960) on windows 2003 server without connecting the printer.

At work we have a win 2k3 server that our salesman connect to using remote desktop and write up their orders. And they want to be able to print from their local printer from the server. Which is fine if I can just install the drivers. But the drivers package want's me to connect the cable to the printer before installing the drivers.

Any Ideas would be appreciated.

thanks,

Did you try installing the printer as a network printer on the machines not connected directly to the printer?

Is there a way to do that without actually being on the network? Since the printer is off at the salesman house and not at the office. I do know what you mean though.

Share the salesman's local printer for whoever needs it and publish it to the Domain.  Wehn you need to add the printer from Remote Desktop, look into the network tab in the lower left hand corner and find that printer or add it in manually.

I know what you are trying to do becasue we hit servers remotely in Germany but print back locally here in Italy, it's not hard once you find the trick, which is putting that local printer on the network.

How do I add the salesman computer to the domain if it's not on the local network (the office). And would I need a static IP address at the salesman's computer residence?

It has to have an account within the domain. No way around that.
