creoman,

Dell uses EEPROM memory for BIOS passwords on laptops so the laptop cannot be hacked into without a master password. I'm not sure if I can help but will try. If I cannot help and there is some type of EEPROM chip on the network card, then the network card may need replaced.

Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system?

Code 10 is a drivers issue.

Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

I think there is independent EEPROM in Intel 82577 network card. Are you sure there is no way to reset it?

I'm posting sysinfo here, local network connection doesn't appear here:

creoman,

Let's try reinstalling these few drivers in this exact order and see if the adapter returns.

Dell System Software

Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility

Intel AMT HECI

Intel 825xx Gigabit Platform LAN Network Device

Once you downloaded and installed these drivers in the exact order, does the Intel 825xxx Gigabit LAN Network Device appear and work?

If not, then I would say that it needs replaced.

Reinstalled everything except "Intel AMT HECI" - it said that "system doesn't meet minimum requirements".

Didn't help.

I can't believe that guys from Intel write software which destriys their hardware.

creoman,

Try posting this in the Wireless: Intel Communities and maybe someone there will be able to help, since you said it's an Intel adapter.

I have the exact same problem (code 10 on driver), with the same system. It started when I installed the newest graphic driver.

There is nothing wrong with the hardware since the network card works when I do a system restore to before the update.

Please help me solve this problem.
