Thanks Rick. I am replying to your last post using a wireless connection but I have booted the system with the Mepis 11 Live CD. I double checked the bios and the adapter and they are OK. Fn + F2 will toggle the wireless on and off so is the issue with operating system.
Is there a way to download the software that came with the Laptop (Windows Home) and all the driver and just restore the whole thing the way it was supposed to be?
I appreciate the time you are taking to help me out.

Michel.
Did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Start with the Notebook system utility and the chipset drivers and install everything in the correct order.

Thank you Rick. I re-installed the drivers in the right order by I am still unable to connect with the wireless adapter. This is very frustrating!
Thanks you for your help.

Michel,
Try running the Finding System Information Tool first or post an ipconfig /all log here. Maybe it will give a clue. I will have this thread moved to the Wireless Forum.

Michel,
Look in these places to see if your Connection is enabled
I still do not see any wireless adapter.
Check and reseat the adapter to see if it came loose. Instructions HERE.
