Intel Centrino Wireless-n 2230
I don't believe this is true, but was told by Dell Pro Support (Eric) that the above-referenced card can connect at 5ghz speeds. I, however, cannot. I have a Cisco/Linksys EA6900 with 2 separate named networks, 2 separate passwords. I've removed and reinstalled all software, hardware, etc, Can anyone tell me if I'm crazy, stupid, nuts, or am I justified. I spent 1 hr., 18 min., on the phone with tech support, but didn't get anywhere. I know the network is set up correctly because I can connect on my tablets and phones. I have AT&T uverse dsl with their gateway set up as a modem. Thanks for your help and advice.

Sorry for the confusion. Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 is a single band wireless card it can connect only on 2.4 GHz band.

Then I must ask: A) Why would Dell Pro Support say that it absolutely WAS a dual band card (he was adamant when I attempted to argue with him), and B) how do I order a Dell replacement card that is dual band for my Inspiron 15z 5523 w/ Windows 8.0? I would prefer an Intel card. The Ultrabook is still under warranty until 8/2015, it must be one that won't void the warranty. Thanks.

Hi dana3365,
Sorry for the confusion. We will not be able to replace the existing wireless card to dual band card in the system warranty. However you can purchase a dual band wireless card on the system and replace it which will not void the system warranty..

I'm completely confused. In the first sentence you say, basically, that it WILL void my warranty, and in the second sentence you say it won't. Which is it?
