Hi Akumtong Jamir,

It is important to establish connectivity between the two compatible devices, before sharing the data between them. You may uninstall and re-install the wireless drivers of your computer:

  • Click on “Start” and right click on “Computer”.
  • Click on “Manage”.
  • Click on “Device Manager”.
  • Under “Network adapters”, you will find the wireless driver listed.
  • Right click on it and click on “uninstall”. (Check and make a note of the driver installed on your system and re-install the wireless driver from the below steps accordingly).
  • Check the box to delete the software.
  • Restart your system and click on the link: http://dell.to/Tmx2mL
  • Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the operating system.
  • Go to “Network” and download the wireless driver available.
  • Restart your computer.

Once done, you may perform the steps mentioned in video below:

Hi Akumtong Jamir,

In order to assist you in a better way, please provide me the following details:

  • How are you trying to connect to the internet(wireless/wired)?
  • Have you tried to uninstall and then re-install the wireless driver?
  • Is the Intel My WiFi utility updated?
  • What is the error you are receiving while connecting to the internet?

Please post a screenshot of the device manager and network adapters.

If you are trying to connect through wireless, you may also delete and then re-create the wireless profile for the wireless Internet. You may follow the steps below:

Open the Network and Sharing Center. There, on the left side column, click on "Manage wireless networks" (Following screen appears)

- In the 'Manage Wireless Networks' window, you can see the profiles of all the wireless networks which were connected in the past.
- Select the network with which you are facing trouble, and click 'Remove'

- Confirm that you want to remove the network profile. The profile of the wireless network is now deleted. Windows will detect that network as if it was a new discovery and you will be able to enter all the details again and connect to it.

Once the Internet is working, you may follow the steps from link: http://intel.ly/cqFcS7

Please share the findings.

Hi Akumtong Jamir,

Ensure that Internet connection sharing is enabled for the personal area network profile in Intel My WiFi Utility and the Internet connection is shared in the operating system's Local area Network Adapter as well.

You may refer to step by step instructions : http://intel.ly/cqFcS7

Another step you may try is to open the 'Device Manager' again --> Expand 'Network Adapters' --> Right click and delete 'Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter# 3' and 'Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter# 3' --> Restart your computer to check if issue persists.

Please share the findings.

Hi Akumtong Jamir,

You may download and install Intel My WiFi Dashboard Software from link: http://intel.ly/HMV0Do

Once done restart your computer and see if the issue persists.

Akumtong Jamir,

Please continue with DELL-Chinmay S

When you installed the opertaing system, did you install the Dell System Software and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Please read...

Installing My Wi-Fi Technology Intel® My WiFi Technology is supported only on the Windows 7 operating system with driver versions 13.1.1 to Intel drivers 14.3

Download the drivers from Drivers & Downloads make sure the drivers are between versions 13.1.1 to 14.3 These drivers are the only drivers that support Intel® My WiFi Technology

If you cannot find the drivers from Drivers and Downloads, then try Intel's website and save them to your desktop

Make a system restore point.

Start, control panel, device manager, network adapters, right click on your adapter, left click uninstall. Tell it to remove the drivers and software.

Restart your computer.

When you log back in, the new hardware wizard will try to install the adapter but fail. Install the drivers you saved to your desktop

What happens?
