Intel Pro wireless 3945 not connecting to Access Point

I have a Latitud Notebook d620 and access point ProSafe 802.11g WG102. When I bring up my computer. I see the wireless icon when I go to start connect. Yet I never get an IP address. That is there is not connection. I try repairing the connection to no avail. I went to setup and enabled the wi-fi. the DHCP is setup to dynamic. Yet, I am not able to get the wireless card connecting to the Access Point. I was able to connect an RJ45 in the back of the laptop and connected to the internet. I ran the wireless wizard to no avail. What is it that I need to do to be able to get this wireless connection going. Can anybody help me? Thanks.
