Intel PROSet will not Auto Connect

M6300 XP64, Intel PROSet Wireless Software version 11.1.1.3

"Once you connect to the network, it is saved as a profile. When you are not connected, Intel PROSet/Wireless tries to automatically connect in the order specified in this list."

NO - IT DOESN'T

I've verified it's set to Auto Connect.

Properties > Advanced > Auto Connect > Automatic (default)

The only way I can connect is by starting the PROSet software, then selecting an available network connection listed, and clicking connect.  These are networks shown in my profile.  Everything looks like it should work, it just doesn't.

What's wrong???  TIA

yes. Intel PROSet is "inferior". I used to have to repair my connection every time i booted. i've since start using this http://www.r2.com.au/software.php?page=2&show=startdelay to control how startup software installs when the machine boots. i give the wireless 5 or 10 seconds to get going.

so far so good, but i wouldn't be surprised if i don't have to fool with it again...

maybe you'll have better luck letting Windows manage your wireless connection. i found as "inferior" as PROSet may be, it is less "inferior" than the windows wireless manager.

your results may vary.

I uninstalled the Intel PROset/Wireless software using Add/Remove Programs.  The standard windows wireless management started working immediately.  I put in my network keys, restarted the computer, and wireless connected automatically.  Thanks for the suggestion!
