Thank you for posting your message at the Dell Community Forums.

Try reinstalling your Intel wireless driver and let us know if the problem persists.

I am surprised that there is no "solved" indication for any of the original posts relating to this problem.

I did uninstall the Wireless driver (Computer Mgmt > Device Mgr > Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection > Uninstall) and the machine promptly reinstalled it. The problem persists: Click on "Control Panel" and this nuisance error message pops up. You have to click "OK" before the control panel actually opens.

I have a LatitudeD505 (JXH0S61) running XP-pro. This problem started up about a year ago when I was going through and updating all drivers. The thought comes to mind that some "too updated" driver got installed which looks for hardware not in this machine. I have no idea how to track down where this message is coming from.

The drivers now associated with the Wireless 2200BG Network Connection are:
Overall - Date 7/25/2007  Version 9.0.4.37
w29n52.sys (in sys32\drivers) Ver 9.0.4.37
Netw2c32.dll (in sys32) Ver 9.0.4.95
Netw2r32.dll (in sys32) Ver 9.0.4.95

I have run Dell Support Version 3. It found no problems.

What should my next step be?   Thanks!
