Go to Start - All Programs - Intel ProSet Wireless - Intel ProSet Wireless. A box will open up. Click anywhere on the box and press F10. That will de-activate Intel Utility. Now, at the right hand bottom corner of your screen look for a computer symbol with wireless signals (icon) to the right. Right click on it and choose "View available Wireless Networks", choose your network and click connect!
Not exactly. When you choose "let windows manage wireless" in WZC, without de-activating Intel Utility. You are :- a) creating a driver conflict b) When the system restarts, WZC will need to be restarted. If WZC is managing wireless, your system will automaticaly connect to any unsecured network in are and let you go online, which is quite useful if you travel. However if you want to use Intel, download the driver here :- http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=202350 Make sure to uninstall your old driver AND utility before installing the new one.
Thanks, That will do the same as "Let Windows manage wireless device" won't it? Isn't the Intel ProSet software a "Better" way? It seems like it would be better to fix the driver issue if there is one or maybe it is a software problem with Intel ProSet. The wireless seems to work ok.
Thank You. I think that fixed it. I was afraid I was in trouble, the ProSet uninstall just sat like it had locked-up for over 1/2 hour and showed no sign of activity. I finally did a Restart and got it to finish uninstall. In the end it appears to be repaired with new drivers. Fingers crossed. Thanks, Ron

Oops! That might be where I went wrong. I'll download from the link you give. Uninstall, then install new drivers. Thanks, Ron
