Intel PROSet/Wireless intermittent connectivity

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop (with Windows XP) with an Intel PROSet/Wireless 3945ABG Software (version 10.1.0.3). I connect to a wireless internet network in my hostel through the Intel PROSet. But the problem is that quite often after some time into using the wireless connection, it gets disconnected. When I open the Intel PROSet link after that to re-connect, it gives no options of any wireless networks available, even though the 'Enable Radio' option is selected. I have to restart the laptop again and then only get the wireless network.

I have installed the driver again for this application from the Dell Utilities CD (I did not uninstall the application though, just installed the driver again from the cd) to check if it works properly after that, but the problem remains. Also, I changed the setting to allow Windows to manage the wireless connectivity instead of Intel PROSet. That seems to be working fine, without getting disconnected over a longer period of time.

Any solutions?

Have you tried the latest generic driver and PRO/Wireless client software from Intel?

I did upgrade to version 11.5.0.32 by downloading the corresponding driver from the link you mentioned. But the problem still persists. Problem is that when it disconnects, after that it just doesn't detect any wireless networks and there is no way i can repair the network to start the wireless again. Even when I change to allow Windows to manage the Wifi, it doesn't detect any wireless networks. I have to restart to enable the wireless.
