I've recently purchased an XPS M140 with a Dell 1370 wireless card and have the exact Netgear router that you do.

Currently I can't get the 1370 to connect to the Netgear. It sees the SSID broadcast but after I supply the WEP, it fails to connect and eventually resorts to connecting to another unprotected network in the neighborhood.

I'm curious what firmware you've updated your Netgear to? Was it the 5.3 firmware?

It was the 5.3 firmware, and we have been able to get 128 bit WEP to work with the 1370 adapter.

firmware 5.3 is pretty buggy so i don't recommend doing the upgrade (for me, many webpages timed out). lots of discussion on this on other forums.

decided to roll back to 5.03 and very strangely, the 1370 card now works with the 5.03 firmware.

no idea why but am typing this on the connection right now.

so for those of you with 1370 cards and mr814v2 netgear routers, if you haven't been able to connect, you may try this:
update firmware to 5.3, test if the laptop connects, then rollback to 5.03, and see if that solves things.
