Intel wireless N 7260 Problems
I have a dell Inspiron 15R 5537 with the Intel wireless N 7260. This wireless card has been nothing but trouble. I had it stable until I upgraded to windows 10. Now it constantly disconnects to a point were it is almost unusable. I have done a lot of searching and have yet to find a workable solution. I just downloaded Intel's latest drivers 18.20 hoping that would help, but it has not. Writing this post I been disconnected several times and took 30 minutes to post.
Has anyone been able to find a solution that has worked?
Thanks,
John

Hopefully this helps those trying to optimize their AC 7260 connectivity issues. With the following settings, I have been able to get maximum WIRELESS Internet download/upload speeds equal to my Gigabit Ethernet connection AND achieve network connectivity at 866Mpbs internally. I have tested each setting and show what is default and what should be changed. At least this worked for me on my Intel AC7260 connected to my Netgear AC1900 / C7000 cable modem router on stock settings:
ADVANCED
802.11n 2.4GHz = Auto [DEFAULT]
802.11n 5.2GHz = Auto [DEFAULT]
Ad Hoc Channel 802.11b/g = 1 [DEFAULT]
Ad Hoc QoS Model = WMM Enabled [NEED TO CHANGE TO THIS]
ARP offload for WoWLAN = Enabled [DEFAULT]
Bluetooth(R) AMP = Disabled [DEFAULT]
Fat Channel Intolerant = Disabled [S/B DEFAULT]
GTK rekeing for WoWLAN = Enabled [DEFAULT]
HT Mode = VHT [NEED TO CONFIRM / CHANGE TO THIS] - Enables AC speeds above 300Mbps!!!
Mixed Mode Protection = RTS/CTS Enabled [DEFAULT]
NS offload for WoWLAN = Enabled [DEFAULT]
Packet Coalescing = Enabled [DEFAULT]
Preferred Band - 1. No Preference [DEFAULT - CAN TRY 5.2Ghz Preferred but 1 worked best]
Roaming Aggressiveness = 1. Lowest [NEED TO CHANGE TO THIS] - Improved Internet DL speeds
Sleep on WoWLAN Disconnect = Disabled [DEFAULT]
Throughput Booster = Disabled [DEFAULT]
Transmit Power = 5. Highest [NEED TO CHANGE TO THIS]
U-APSD support = Disabled [DEFAULT]
Wake on Magic Packet = Enabled [DEFAULT]
Wake on Pattern Match = Enabled [DEFAULT]
Wireless Mode = 6. 802.11a/b/g [DEFAULT - DOUBLE CHECK]
POWER MANAGEMENT
* Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
I hope this helps. I spent hours testing all of the combinations and this should save you some wasted time.
