Hi,

I notice if I set a 64Bits WEP using Intel/PROSet, I'm only allow to enter 10 Hex character which is only 40bits !! The same goes to 128bits WEP, only 26 Hex character is allowed. However, if you use Windows to manage the connection, it allows you to enter 16 Hex character if you choose a 64bits WEP! Anyone know why this is the case ? Isn't 64bits equals to 16 Hex character ??

For both 64 and 128 bit WEP, there's a 24-bit "initialization vector" that's present in addition to the user-supplied key. So for 128-bit WEP, the key length is 104 bits/13 characters/26 hex digits. For 64 bit WEP, the key length is 40 bits/5 characters/10 hex digits.

You can read more about WEP keying in this article from TomsHardware.com.
