The Bluetooth indicator is standard, but the actual Bluetooth module is an optional part of the computer. If you have Bluetooth enabled in the BIOS, and you see either an unknown USB device or a Bluetooth Adapter listed in Device Manager then you probably have the adapter in your computer.
In order to use the adapter you would have to have the Bluetooth driver and software installed. If you have not reinstalled the OS then it should already be there (assuming the computer has a Bluetooth card). The driver/software package is available on the Drivers & Downloads portion of http://support.dell.com.
"Device Manager: ANTHONYSLAPTOP>Bluetooth Devices>Bluetooth Bus Enumerator." (Manufacturer is Broadcom, under properties, via context-sensitive menu. I can't remember the manufacturer/distributor of the external adapter is, but I don't think it's Broadcom... I could be wrong.)
Is this an internal, or does it have something to do with my external adapter?
Also, "ANTHONYSLAPTOP>Ports (COM & LPT)>Bluetooth Communications Port (COM4)"
And, "ANTHONYSLAPTOP>Sound, video and game controllers>Bluetooth Hands-free Audio (&) Bluetooth Stereo Audio," but I think these have to do with my USB bluetooth adapter, as I've seen these exact terms used in my Bluetooth tray icon window, which only appeared after I installed the driver for the USB adapter, & is quite obviously heavily related to it, as it is white when it's plugged in & red when unplugged, among other things.
Also, when I plug in the external, I get more readings:
"ANTHONYSLAPTOP>Bluetooth Devices>Broadcom 2045 Bluetooth 2.0 USB Device"
The E1505 does have an optional Bluetooth adapter, located in the battery bay behind its own little door. I believe it does use a Broadcom chipset, although if you have the correct drivers installed it should show up as a Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth adapter. If you have an external Bluetooth device connected at the same time that uses the same chipset but a different driver that could be part of the problem you are running into.
You might try booting into safe mode and then in the Device Manager deleting all the Bluetooth devices that show up, then power down, remove the external bluetooth and start up normally, loading the Dell drivers for the 350 Bluetooth adapter to see what happens.
I looked in the battery door, & I see nothing there. How much does it cost to get one installed? Can it be purchased &/or installed through a local third party (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc)?

"ANTHONYSLAPTOP>Human Interface Devices>HID-compliant consumer control device"
"ANTHONYSLAPTOP>Network adapters>Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver"
There's nothing else I noticed appear, but I could be mistaken, as the whole page refreshes when I plug it in or remove it.
What should I do? Do I have an internal (& if so, how do I use it?)? Should I reinstall a driver?
Also, if I don't have an internal card, can I get one installed (is there room) & how much would it cost, ballpark?
Thanks for your help!

The instructions for removing and installing the bluetooth card on an Inspiron 6400/E1505 is available in the service manual.
