Internal network card will only work with a crossover cable

Question

I have a user that has a latitude D600 and the only way this person can connect to the network is by using a crossover cable. We have tried different seat location and different straight through cables other laptops work correctly and this one requires a crossover cable no matter were they are plugging into the network.

i have never heard of this before, but if so - you may have an onboard NIC that is wired wrong.

Improbable, seeing the automated processes used for manufacturing, but if you tested it it is my best guess.

In that case i would contact Dell.
