Let's go back to basics. With the router powered on and the computer powered on, are the link lights on the network card and the router port to which the cable is connected lit up? If you go into Device Manager, and expland the listing for network adapters by clicking on the + sign next to Network Adapters, does your network card show up and not show any problems?
Dell Dim 4600, dual boot c: winXP/pro SP1---D: Win XP/Home SP1. On C: suddenly I could not log on internet, alway has message :"Can not display..."
Switch boot D: no problem with internet. What is problem on C:? I tried use modem to connect internet on C: there is no problem but I hate use it because it take to long (45.2 Kbps)
Your problem may not be the same. It would be helpful if you'd start a new thread, rather than replying to someone else's. In the new thread, can you list the output from
ipconfig /all from both the XP Home and XP Pro systems?
Before i make new forum I would like to ask you something...What is ipconfig ? I just type this command in Run box and I just see flash Dos come up and nothing else.
What I tried to solved this problem:
1. I did look on "tools / internet options..." on both Win XP have the same.
2. I did restore system at the good point and now the problem just change little bit. When i go to "Dell Forum" it took about 1 minute work on background and then the message "Can not display..." appear. At this time I reboot and switch to D: and go to "Dell forum" and just one second I got it.
What you need to do is start a new thread explaining your entire problem, including the symptoms, your system and network configuration, and what troubleshooting steps you've already done. This will be my last reply to you in this thread.

Have you tried rebooting your computer? If that doesn't help, try downloading and running lspfix from the following site:

Sorry, I should have mentioned this: ipconfig /all needs to be run from a cmd.exe window (Start/Run cmd.exe).
(edit) P.S.: This forum's the right place to post. Just click on "New Message" when viewing the message listing, rather than replying.

Thank Jimw,
I hope for your last comment... before I make new thread.
This is what you want to know: Both OS have exactly the same:
Connection Specific DNS suffix:
IP address: ..................................192.168.2.103
Subnet Mask:................................255.255.255.0
Default Gateway:...........................192.168.2.1
Maybe have I to repair Win/XP pro? If I do, do I need to reinstall SP1?
