Internet Connection Help

Question

I think I may have caught something however, Adaware and Spybot come back clean.  My computer seems to function fine, but my internet connection came to a screetching halt.  I frequently get a 'Page Cannot be Displayed' message and have to refresh several times.   I have tried to follow the steps on the Virus page (My PC is messed up) but I cannot get those pages to load to run the scan.  I use Verizon High Speed connection.  Any help on where to start would be appriecated.   My computer is a Deminsion 4700 w/ Windows XP Home Edition.   Thanks in anvance..... Message Edited by miked993 on 09-15-2006 05:19 PM

Go Here and follow the directions to download and run the analysis tool called HijackThis. Generate a log file, then open it and copy and paste the text of the log file in a message in the HijackThis forum where a HijackThis expert can offer advice on how to fix the problem.   Steve

If you are using a router try a hard reboot of the router by unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds.
