Internet connection issue

Question

My only access to the internet is thru a phone line at work buy my laptop has only an ethernet and USB connection is there an adaptor i can get that will hook up from my ethernet port to the phone line? thanks

No way to use an ethernet adpater on a phone line.  First of all, the plug size is different and secondly there is no signal for the card to detect.

If u have a USB port ... ur work is done ... u can get a convertor which helps u to convert USB to RJ-11 (that's ur phone line connection ) ... hope this might help u

max8 If the Optiplex desktop (which Model number) belongs to you then you can get a PCI modem card very inexpensively and install it in a PCI slot in the Optiplex.
