Internet connection sharing on Windows XP SP1

Having read all the help files available for setting up Internet Connection Sharing, I still can't get it to work.

After following the instructions, I select the "Advanced" tab of the connection's properties, but all I'm offered is the option to turn on the firewall.  There is no option below that to enable ICS.

Is there a major step that I have overlooked?  Does DELL disable Internet Connection Sharing on new PCs?

I've reformatted the HDD and reinstalled Windows (plus all the relevant updates, except SP2).

Has anyone else had a similar problem? (and fixed it)

Grateful for your response!

You need to tell us more about how you are planning on setting up the network for Internet Connection Sharing.  What kind of internet connection are you going to be sharing?  If it is a dialup connection, you will will need to have the dialup connectin installed and working and have an ethernet or wireless network card installed and properly working.  If you are sharing a cable or dsl connection, you will need to have the connection set up and running, connected to the modem by either an ethernet connection or USB connection and you will need another ethernet or wirelss card installed to connect to the other computer.
