Internet Connection

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with an expired warranty. I am trying to connect the internet via my cable modem, but my cable company says I need to download the proper drivers. What are the exact drivers or devices I need to download to connect to the Internet? I have downloaded the Chipset, but that did not work. I am a novice and would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Whatever drivers should come with the Cable Modem or be downloaded from the Cable ISP or the Cable Modem vendor's site.

There are no Cable Modem drivers built into Windows and none on the Dell website as that is not something that is a standard supplied item.

I CANNOT CONNECT TO INTERNET OM MY OLDER DELL DIMENSION 2350 BECAUSE APPARENTLY I DO NOT HAVE A  LAN OR HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION ON MY PUTER.  CAN I DOWNLOAD THIS, FROM THE INTERNET OR FROM DELL OR CAN IT BE INSTALLED USING A CD THAT CAME W MY PUTER OR IS THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THIS BY BUYING IT FROM SOMEWHERE & INSTALLING IT.   THANK YOU, ROD
