Internet Connection

Question

So, my laptop CRASHED...I had to OS and Drivers, etc reinstalled...when I log on, I do not have internet connection...what do I need to do to be able to connect to the internet???

What kind of internet connection do you have (cable/dsl/dialup)?  If cable or dsl, are you connecting directly to the modem or through a router?  If cable or dsl, does your ethernet network adapter show up in Device Manager when you expand the listing for Network adapters?  Does a Local Area Connection show up in Network Connections?   Steve

DSL...have tried both...the problem is there are no options to connect to the internet on my laptop...did not see network adapters in device manager section...LAN does not show up...thanks for responding...I am beyond desperate...

Which model computer do you have?   Which version of Windows?  Did you install the chipset drivers followed by drivers for your network adapter?   Steve
