Internet Connections Fails.

When I restart my computer and click on the internet connection icon on the desktop, there is no response.  It seems like that icon doesnt exist.  I go to the control panel and try to access the internet connection there and the same thing happens.  I can restore the computer to an earlier day and then access the internet by either clicking on the desktop icon or going thru the control panel.  This failure to recognize the icon only happens when the compter is restarted.  If i connect to the internet and disconnect, then there is no problem reconnection.  Any suggestions?

I am puzzled about what you intend as the effect. For myself, the only time I run "Internet Connection" is the very first time I am setting up a new system. After that, I simply run a web browser (Bon Echo, Maxthon, IE 7).

Temporarily try turning off Symentec Internet Security. Remove any hard-coded TCP/IP in favor of "Use DHCP to assign address automatically"

DNS must be working correctly.

Can you ping (out)? Can you (from another PC on the LAN) ping (in)?

IPCONFIG /ALL
