Internet Explorer 7 and Windows XP

I am having a problem trying to run IE7 and Windows XP. The startup says I am running IE7 with no add-ons. I can go to manage add-ons and see the add-ons that have been used and are currently enable, but I don't know how to activate them so that IE7 will recognized them.

I am also the person who tried to uninstall IE7 without success [i.e., errors were found trying to locate .dll files and the only option I was provided was to cancel.] My ISP says I have a virus but none has been detected through the various software packages (NIS, ccleaner, ultra wincleaner, etc.)

I am running on an I8200, wirelessly. It was suggest that I backup data and reload OS. Worst solution for me.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

p.s. Thanks to the person who advised me to create a new thread for this, as it was different from and impolite to the person who created another questions that wa similar. If possible, I will delete mine.

You say that when you start IE7 it says it is running with No add ons.  How are  you starting IE7?   If you go to Start >Run and type iexplorer.exe then hit the Enter key, does it start with no add-ons?  It's unclear from your message whether you want the add-ons to run when IE starts or you don't want them to run.

I see you have another thread in progress in the Software Windows XP forum.   Bugbatter's guess is that you infected with malware and she is an expert on such matters.   If Bugbatter can't help you with your problem, feel free to post back here.  Note that there is no software that can detect and remove all spyware/malware. But if it is a malware problem, Bugbatter will help you find it and remove it.

First of all, I thank you for educating me on the protocol.

I want to run with the add-ons, because I receive error messages telling me that I am running without them and thererfore the sites I attempt to view only show part of the pages [and there is not enough to be usefull].

This occurs when I use Start-> Run-> to execute, as well.

I will review the other persons advice.

Thanks, again.
