rosie-posie,
If this is what you're looking for, then make this your home page. Internet Explorer is Internet Explorer and is really made by Microsoft.

Rose,
Deleting IE8 does NOT remove it. Try this.
Start, control panel, prgramsa and features, view installed updates. Click on Internet Explorer 8, then click on the un-install button at the top and follow the instructions.
When the computer restarts, you'll have IE7 back again and everything should be back to normal.

July 9, 2009 I installed the download for IE8, my computer froze up and I had to reboot. It was a mess. finally I restored my computer to a day before the installation. Then I didn't have IE8 and mly IE7 wouldn't work. Outlook Explorer worked fine. I then restored to a week before July 9, 2009 still nothing. A friend that downloaded IE8 and it worked fine, downloaded it to a CD and put it on my computer and it works fine. I still get notices to download and install IE8 about every 3-4 days. I click the X and it goes away. IE8 seems to be working fine but how can I tell and why does it keep wanting me to download it.
thanks

A Lorenzo,
Open Internet Explorer. Click on help, about. There it will tell you the version of Internet Explorer 7 or 8 is all you need to post.
Do you have Vista 32-bit or 64-bit? You might be getting the notification to download and install the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer, which does not work with Flash player.
Open Windows Updates, check for updates. You should see the update for IE8. Look at what it says first. It could be a security update. If you do not want this update, then uncheck the box, right click on the update, then left click hide this update.
