Does the same thing occur if you start Internet Explorer by going to Start > Run and typing iexplore and then hitting the Enter key?

Try resetting Internet Explorer:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/81fe3b46-2460-459e-b826-8f134a7fe1771033.mspx

Be sure to read about the effects of doing this in that article before doing the reset so that you will be aware of what will be changed.

I am having a similar problem trying to run IE7 and Windows XP. The startup says I am running IE7 with no add-ons. I can go to manage add-ons and see the add-ons that have been use and are currently enable, but I don't know how to activate them so that IE7 will recognized them.

I am also the person who tried to uninstall IE7 without success [i.e., errors were found trying to locate .dll files and the only option I was provided was to cancel.] My ISP says I have a virus but none has been detected through the various software packages (NIS, ccleaner, ultra wincleaner, etc.)

I am running on an I8200, wirelessly. It was suggest that I backup data and reload OS. Worst solution for me.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
