Internet Explorer not working!

I went to London, England earlier this year and took my Dell Inspiron 600m notebook with me. While there, the gentleman at my hotel's information desk gave me a program to install on my computer so I could go online. That program was called Wannado. Since I have been home, I have not been able to get my Internet Explorer to work properly. Everytime I go there it says Forbidden. I ended up putting Firefox on my computer which works fine. However, certain programs like iTunes and Realplayer will not work with Firefox. I have tried taking Wannado and Explorer off completely and then re-downloading Internet Explorer and trying to get it to work but it hasn't yet. Anyone know what I should do?

Try this - open Internet Explorer and click on Tools > Internet Options.  If your can't open IE, then right click on the desktop icon for IE and select Properties from the drop-down menu.   Click on the Advanced tab and then page down and remove the check mark next to "enable third party browser extensions".  Reboot and see if the problem goes away.  If it does, then you know that wanadoo must have installed a browser extension that is preventing IE from running.   Since there are other programs that may use third party browser extensions that you might want to be albe to run, it would be best to figure out which extensions wanadoo installed, and try to remove them so that IE will work normally.

Thank you for your quick response. I did exactly as you told me. However, when I go into Internet Explorer it comes up: "Forbidden You were denied access because: Access denied by access control list." And I still cannot not get Internet Explorer to work. I am pretty sure I took wanadoo completely off of my computer. If you have any other suggestions please let me know, my computer has been this way since January.

Try doing it from Safe Mode.

Hi,

Are you connecting to internet using dial-up connection now? If so check this. It applies to all versions if IE.

Cheers,
Maddy.
