internet explorer problem
A lot of the time when I'm surfing on the internet I'll click on a link and then an Internet Explorer box pops up and says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" and then I can send an error report or not to Microsoft, which I always do, and then IE closes. This problem occurs more often on certain (safe) websites that I go to than others, and I have no idea why. Its happening more and more overtime, like 15 times a day. I have run Lavasoft Spyware and Adaware, have done virus scans, but it still keeps happening. Does anyone know what this problem means and how to fix it?

There should be a link on the error message to see the details of the error report. Click on that link, then report here the AppName and ModName involved in the error. Without that information there are thousands of possibities. The information in the error report will help us narrow the possibilities.

I would go here and follow the steps suggested by Dell Moderator(s) scan/clean your system.
As stated in these suggestions, you may have to, eventually, run a HijackThis log and post it in the appropiate Dell "HijackThis forum" for further help.
Someone else may "jump in" and offer a better solution. Good luck!

Long term, make sure ALL Windows updates are current.
If you do not run these religiously and regularly you could be thirty or more updates behind, each of which could make your system unnecessarily vulnerable.
Unless you download and run version 7 Preview Beta 2 of Internet Explorer, I would abandon that immediately.
Maxthon (browser) once you download and install it can do anything that IE can do, including Windows updates. I just run google 'Windows update' and then go run it with Maxthon.
Besides version 7 and Maxthon, you also have Firefox current version as well as the Alpha "Bon Echo"
I use all simultaneously because each has its own strengths. But unless your operating system is not Windows XP then rename Internet Explorer "AVOID" and then stay away from it altogether if at all possible. It is worse than dangerous.
