Which version of Internet Explorer are you running?  If it is IE7, then click Tools > Manage Add-ons and try disabling an Ad-on, one at a time, to see if one of these is causing the problem.  You might also want to make sure that your system is free of spyware by installing and running more than one antispyware program.
