Internet not working after installing SP2

Question

I have been able to connect to the network (internet) without any troubles, until I installed sp2 on my laptop with a wireless network card.  Now, after installing sp2, I cannot gain access.  Per the Dell site, this is a top issue and suggested I uninstalled and re-installed my wireless drivers.  A cut and paste of that post is below:   Unable to Connect (Wireless) after Installing SP2 Some Wireless configurations may stop working after installing Windows XP Service Pack 2. This may easily be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the WLAN/NIC drivers. For additional troubleshooting information, refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base article: 'How to troubleshoot wireless network connections in Windows XP Service Pack 2' I am very aggravated. Does the wireless connection say that it is connected? If yes, find the IP address by running ipconfig command in dos prompt. If IP is proper then try in Safe Mode with Networking.   If it not, then try downloading this file and check. http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlwinsockxpfix.html
