Internet options in Tools not correct

Question

Trying to get 'My homepage' set.  I've gone to Tools, then to internet options, but it doesn't show the General tab to set homepage, how long to keep pages in history etc.  When I do get a homepage set such as yahoo, it doesn't keep.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Spybot, and maybe other ad blockers/malware stoppers, can lock IE's settings, giving symptoms like what you described. Are you running Spybot with 'lock IE settings' selected? Jim

I sounds like you have acquired a homepage hijacker. This is likely the cause of your other problems that you posted in your other message as well. Go to the following page and first download, install, update, and run Spybot S&D. After you let spybot get rid of spyware it finds, download and run cwshreddrer. Then, if the problem is still present, download and run HijackThis and post the log file that it creates here for further suggestions.
