Ok ... help me out ... those blasted Internet Pop-ups - I've set the options to have them stop and they keep appearing anyway. I've downloaded Ad Aware 6.0, run same and "fixed" errors, etc. I have been right clicking for 'properties' and keep adding each popup to the blocked list, but there are so many of them, the list will soon have thousands of blocked entries ... There must be an easier way (?)
There are several types of popups. Those that arrive using the Windows "Messenger" service can be disabled using the "Shoot the Messenger" tool
available from Gibson Research. Those that are delivered through the Internet Explorer Web browser can be controlled using the
Google Toolbar, which installs into Internet Explorer.
I'd suggest both! Or, better yet, install a firewall such as the free version of
ZoneAlarm.
