This suggests that something running from startup in nromal mode is causing the problem. Try eliminating programs from running at startup, one at a time, and see if you can isolate the problem. Do you have any security software running (Norton, McAfee)? These are likely suspects. You can also try disabling the phishing filter in Internet Explorer and see if that helps.
Thanks, I tried that and I have virtually everything disabled and I still have the problem. I also have IEs security stuff turned off.
I have the problem with and without my security software running and I use the same security software on my other computer that has no problems like this (although it runs W2k).
Hmmm, there does seem to be a problem with my Authentium Security Suite. I still have the problem when it is turned up off, but when I uninstalled it things are working better. There is a new version out, I will try downloading that.
I downloade the latest version of the security suite and it seems to be working much better. The old rev was having problems with IE7 too. IE7 is working great now.
