I can understand that it can be upsetting to get a slow internet access. However, please confirm if you have observed the internet to be slow or it takes time to open any other programs also on the system.
If yes, then I would suggest you to run the Microsoft Fixit from the link below:
Once you run the Fixit restart the system and check if the performance has improved.
Meanwhile, to maintain the system performance you may follow the steps below:
1. You can use the Windows Disk Cleanup tool to remove the temporary files from the system.
2. Run the Disk Defragmenter program as fragmented files cause slower performance because the compute will search for all of the file's parts. Follow the steps below to run the Disk Defragmenter program:
a) Click the Start button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter. b) Select the drive you want to defragment, and then click Analyze disk. Disk Defragmenter will evaluate your disk and then make a recommendation as to whether a disk requires defragmentation. c) If disk defragmentation is recommended, click Defragment disk to clean up your computer.
3. Reduce the webpage history.
a) In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options. In the General tab, under Browsing history, click the Settings button. b) Under History, find the Days to keep pages in history box. In the box, select 1, and then click OK.
4. Do not save encrypted webpages. Follow the steps below:
a) In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options. b) In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab. c) In the Settings section, scroll down to the Security section. Select the Do not save encrypted pages to disk check box, and then click OK.
5. Remove spyware, and help protect your computer from viruses. Run the antivirus program you are using on the system to check for viruses and spyware.
