IP address, gateway, etc. not assigned

Question

I am writing from a different laptop which works with our home set up of Comcast high speed internet and Cisco systems wireless g linksys router. The Dell laptop in question is an Inspiron E1505. It was restored a few days ago bc it failed to recognize the DVD drive. One or two boot ups after restoration, it began having problems connection our wireless connection at home (but not at work.) Try downloading and running winsockfix for Windows XP from the Here.   Steve
