What exactly do you mean by "class b router?" Also, are you connecting wirelessly, wired? What network card do you have, what is the router model? We need some more information before we can help; at least I do.
What spyware program did you use? If it removed something, there is a good chance that whatever was removed was tied into the LSPs or something similar.
i was using ad aware se personal. One of the infected files kept on crashing my computer. it also seaid somthing abot not being able to delete the file.

its wireless. I have a DLAN 1150 card i think. Its dells latest cards that they use with the 1150's
I have a gateway router. Its the one they made before they came out with the g type routers. I have comcast internet

Try running winsockfix for Windows XP from the Here and if that doesn't work try lspfix from Here.
