ipconfig answer
One of the response lines I get after 'ipconfig' is:
Media State. . . . .: Media Disconnected.
I have tried everything to get my laptop to connect to my home network: I've done this many times with many computers; I finally noticed that 'ipconfig' returned this
message which I am unfamilioar with. Could it mean that my wireless adapter is defective or somehow not connected?
Thankls!

arawak1,
What do you see when you run ipconfig /all?
If you have Vista/Windows 7, try running Finding System Information. At the bottom, you'll see what your network devices are.
Did you recently reinstall the operating system?
