Yes..the pc is the only pc on that modem, which is the only modem in the house. I will take the steps that microsoft has for currupted TCP/IP. And see if that works. But thanks so much for the help so far.

I just type it in manually like when connecting to a server, right? And leave the gatway at 255.255.255.0? To be honest, I know how to give an IP address, but not sure on the difference between static and dynamic.

Dynamic changes or can change and static remains constant.

 

192.168.1.101

255.255.255.0

These would be the settings for a Linksys box.

I see. The gateway never changes right? Ok Ill try to give it a permenent address. Ill let you knwo how it goes.

That looks very close to what the DSL box was giving me.
 
192.168.10.10
 
or IP 192.168.11.1
