Ipconfig/renew error message

Inspiron 6000 wireless XP can't connected to internet. Ipconfig/renew shows error message saying the system connot find the file specified. Please help!! Thanks so much!!

you are putting a space between the  g and the /

what happen if you just type ipconfig /?

it says:

connection-specific DNS suffix:

IP address........:0.0.0.0

subnet Mask......:0.0.0.0

defulat gateway.....:

Try this--Start, click Run, type "ipconfig", hit enter, type "ip/release", hit enter.  Next line type "ip/renew", enter.  These should be typed without the quotes.  You can't renew until you release.  Not guaranteed to get an IP address, but it's a good place to start.

Paste this into a command prompt:

C:\ipconfig /all >> C:\ipconfig.txt

Paste the results from this file here and lets look at it.

I tried the when the DOS black screen pops up and it says: system can't find the path specified. Am I doing it at the wrong place?

Looks like you have lost some system files.

 

Load the XP disc and from the menu type:  sfc /scannow

Can't find the reinstallation disk. Stupid of me. Will turn every stone to find it and let you know. Thank in advance.
