Is IEEE 1394 same as Ethernet?
Gentlemen,
I have an Inspiron with built-in ethernet capability. In the device manager, under Network Adapters, I have listed Dell TrueMobile wireless, and a 1394 net adapter. Is the 1394 device the ethernet controller?
Also, what is the difference between broadband and ethernet? Can you recommend where I can learn more about these things?
Thanks very much in advance,
Rob

Ethernet is the most used method of connection on a LAN (Local Area Network).
Broadband is just a faster connection than, for example, dial-up. May be ADSL (Asynchronous digital subscriber line) -- telephone or through a cable connection or even perhaps fiber optic.
A google search on any of these terms will return lots of info.

The dell true mobile wireless card along with a wireless router and a cable internet connection or ADSL connection can help you connect to internet wireless within a specified range from your router
you can contact verizon for providing you high speed internet service ( ADSL ) or comcast for providing cable internet which again is high speed internet.
if you need to learn more about these stuff please send an email to me at techsupport4free@gmail.com
and i will collate some useful information for you and reply back
